“What I Learned at Tennis” by Sierra B., age 9
On the first day of tennis, I didn’t know what to expect, but my teacher, Andy, made feel confident because he said nice things like, “Nice try”.
I learned how to do forehand - remember to bring it up to your shoulder. I learned how to do backhand -remember, two hands, 'slamming pointing' helps, and serving is hard, so don’t be upset. It took instructor Andy two years to learn tennis, including serving.
We play lots of games like four squares, kings and queens, hitting balls 70 miles per hour, and ping pong tennis is my favorite. There are a lot more games that you’ll just have to go to find out! I know I enjoy tennisJ!
